Summer starts at the Commercial Street Night Market this Thursday! Join the feet on the street at this free event when downtown streets close to cars and invite the community to celebrate the season in the heart of the city.
Commercial Street will be pedestrian-only as artisan vendors, crafters, food and beverage purveyors and downtown merchants line the streets selling everything from food to crafts to curios. Play some street games Visit the food trucks and beverage samplers on Diana Krall Plaza. Live entertainment including bouncy castles, climbing walls and face painters will be there and a self-guided Arts & Culture Crawl will highlight the downtown Arts District. Downtown restaurants and cafés are joining in and bringing their hospitality out onto the street. June 21 feature performers are Akron the Barbarian, Marty Steele, Ray Chin, and Gabe Vadas and special surprise guests from National Indigenous Day celebrations.
Thursday night festivities continue through to August 30. and festivities run from 5 pm to 9 pm with traffic and parking on Commercial, Skinner, Wharf and Museum Way prohibited from 2 – 10 pm.
